I wouldn’t mind seeing a cite on the “riots” report, as I’ve been looking for evidence of these for some while.

The closest I found was a report of a lady who hit Arthur Conan Doyle with an umbrella.This counts as “a riot” only in the sense of “Wow, did you see that lady’s backhand, and the look on Doyle’s face? That was a riot.” So if you have a reliable cite, please share.
